Sharp TVs | Go BIG!

RobertWadlow

Robert Wadlow: 8’11”

This guy to the left knows about big. Sharp's new behemoth does as well.

You want a big TV for the football season? Try Sharp's new 80" LED TV! Sharp claims that this is the "world's largest" commercially available LED TV to date. All I know is that the thing is HUGE! Think your 55" TV is big? This thing has the surface area of two of them.

In addition to being the size of a mini-van, the LC80LE632 offers Sharp's innovative Quattron technology that adds a 4th color to the standard red, blue and green pixels that are found on conventional TVs. This offers better colors and contrast than you find in many other TVs. It also includes built-in Wi-Fi connectivity and access to apps like Netflix, CinemaNow and VUDU.

Some other options of this 80-inch monster are an X-Gen LCD panel with 10-bit processing which was designed with advanced pixel control to minimize light leakage, a wider aperture to let more light through, dynamic contrast ratio of 6,000,000:1, 120Hz Fine Motion Enhanced support for improved fast motion picture quality, two USB ports, and a game mode (Vyper Drive) that supposedly eliminates perceptible lag between video game consoles and the TV display.

Want a whopper? Call us up. We are taking orders for these currently and there is a waiting list so let us know ASAP if you are ready to step up your TV game.

Aire Theater Designs...San Diego's leaders in audio, video and home automation since 2005.

P.S. We're going back into the vaults of our blog to bring this one back as Sharp now has a 90" set that is readily available. WHOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAA! If you're interested in seeing the TV (LC90LE745) that makes their 80" look like the runt of the litter, give us a call at San Diego's home for monstrous Sharp TVs.

Do you like video and TV? If you are a nerd like us and love today's televisions, you may know that Samsung generated a lot of anticipation about their new TVs from pre-CES (Consumer Electronics Show) press releases. Here's a quote from Samsung's website:

"The F8500’s unique design is the perfect blend of both aesthetic aspects and functional aspects. Its premium design is created using a single piece of metal. The futuristic design is highlighted by the TV’s dark titan metal color, an ultra-slim frame, naturally curved lines and a unique square-shaped stand, making it appear more like a work of art than a TV. It will be available in 51”, 60” and 64” class screen sizes."

Of course most of us know that words don't mean much and that "the proof's in the pudding". We'll we are happy to say that the pudding is here and it is the most proof-laden pudding we've ever eaten. This TV is RIDICULOUS!!! Here's some highlights:

1) Thin cell structure: Plasma TVs provide color by housing the color components (red/green/blue) in individual cells. By reducing the thickness of the cell walls where color is created, less light is absorbed by the cell walls and the colors illuminate more brightly. This allows Samsung's new TVs to have the brightest picture we've seen yet.

2) SUPER SmartTV: They actually don't call it "SUPER SmartTV", but they might as well. Samsung's new quad-core processors allow the web browser and applications in the TV to run quicker and more efficiently than ever before. This equals less waiting time and more fun.

3) Clone View: You can now zap whatever is on the TV to your Samsung-compatible tablet or phone. This will allow you to go anywhere in the house without leaving the entertainment of the TV behind.

Interested? The new 51F8500, 60F8500 and 64F8500 plasma televisions are now trickling in. Reserve yours today at Aire Theater Designs, San Diego's home for Samsung TVs and home theater products.

Would you rather have GOOD stuff or BAD stuff? Sometimes our budgets dictate that we have the latter. However, here at Aire Theater Designs it is our job and mission to save the citizens of San Diego from BAD audio, video and home theater. If your budget determines that you have BAD audio/video equipment but you want GOOD stuff, follow this blueprint to build the home theater of your dreams by buying it in steps.

STEP 1: Choose a quality audio/video receiver and a pair of speakers: You want to choose a home theater receiver that allows you to hook up EVERYTHING that you want to connect today in addition to components that you may want to add tomorrow. You don't want to scrimp on your speakers as they make more of a difference, dollar-for-dollar, than anything else in your system. If you have just been listening to the TV speakers or an all-in-one home theater in-a-box, you will be BLOWN AWAY at the realism that your new system offers for music and movies.

STEP 2: Add a subwoofer: The subwoofer will add the lower bass frequencies that make an on-screen Tyrannosaur scare you and really gives you the UMMPPH of the theater. What many people realize once the subwoofer is in the system is that music sounds SO MUCH BETTER once you add this speaker. You will literally hear notes and nuances in your favorite song that you have never experienced.

STEP 3: Add a pair of tower speakers:  Now you are stepping it up a notch in your theater. Adding better speakers to the front of the room will give you more presence, realism and impact for your music and movies. Move your existing speakers to the back of the room and listen. Movies will come alive as scenes with objects hurtling front-to-back will now become a reality in your room! Don't forget to duck!

STEP 4: Add a center channel: This last addition will provide you with vocals that seem to come out of the TV. This final add to the system will help to "build a stage" so when scenes play out on-screen in front of you, a tapestry is built where the sounds, vocals and action on-screen come alive right before you. This last piece will put you directly IN the movie.

Now you have the recipe for building a home theater on a budget and we're the company that can provide you with the ingredients. With decades of experience, quality brands like Yamaha, Definitive Technology, Martin Logan, Monitor Audio. Denon and others, we can help you to do this right. Call us up if you're interested in enhancing your life through music and movies with a little help from San Diego's leading dealer of audio/video and home theater.

"Because the electrostatic diaphragm is weightless, it is capable of responding to each individual sonic event with extraordinary speed - from the most subtle background passages to the most explosive transients. There is no lag time that can distort the music. Instead you hear everything as the performer and composer intended."

Why do we go to concerts? They're very crowded, you have to get ready which can take hours and parking is a nightmare. All this doesn't sound like fun. Why do we go? Because of the experience..the sensation of hearing your favorite bands in a different way and visualizing them in a manner that can't be achieved from a CD at home...or can you?

At Aire Theater Designs, we sell GOOD speakers. Why do we offer better lines of speakers than you will find at the local big box store? It's because we love this stuff. We realize that in order to appreciate music, you need to have the correct tools to create the music the way that it was mastered in the studio. Better speakers will do this. We also provide the know-how to set speakers up correctly as proper set-up makes a HUGE difference in how speakers sound in your home.

Your favorite song? You may have heard it 10,000 times but you will finally know what the words are with better speakers. Better speakers will also create sounds around you (this is called imaging) where you will hear music coming from locations where there are no speakers. This helps to add to the realism of being in the studio with your favorite artist. It's VERY cool to listen to your favorite tunes for the first time on a good audio system.

We are San Diego's premier dealer for speakers by Martin Logan, Definitive Technology and Monitor Audio. These three brands offer three distinct sounds that will ensure that we find the right sound for you. Want to start enjoying high-end audio today? Stop by for a listen and see how music can enhance your life and keep you away from people like this.

universal remote app

Interviewer: "So, Mr. Tiny Eyes...what led you to choose the URC iPad universal remote app control for your whole-house system?"

Mr. Tiny Eyes: "Well, I had two problems. One, my eyes are the size of a grain of sand so seeing the screens on standard universal remotes was next to impossible. Secondly, I have surround sound, multi-room audio with speakers, lights that I wanted to control and I got really tired of juggling different remotes around to try to control everything. I can't see well enough to find them in the room let alone view the buttons. Fortunately, I talked to Aire Theater Designs in San Diego and they set me up."

Interviewer: "What did they do?"

Mr. Tiny Eyes: "They met with me, talked about what I wanted to do, brought up some technologies that sounded cool and they went to work. They programmed the URC...URC is a company called Universal Remote Control that makes universal remotes...AND a universal remote app for my iPad. This allows me to use my iPad to watch TV, control my music, turn on lighting from anywhere in the house and even watch my security cameras. The real estate on the iPad is so easy to see compared to my old remotes. Aire Theater Designs and their URC programmers did a great job."

Interviewer: "And there you have it...It doesn't matter whether you have incredibly diminutive eyeballs or just need a simple way to control all of your audio/video and home automation gear, Aire Theater Designs can help."
